This program is initiated and funded by Thierry Berleur (Le Bonheur) to give the opportunity to artists to use the space of Le Bonheur and create multiple editions.
For this exhibition, Michael Van Den Abeele (1974, Belgium) made a series of concrete sculptures that will be presented along with the video Stereonacht (2005) and the drawing Heilige. Michael Van Den Abeele, who was nominated for the Young Belgian Painting Prize in 2001, is well-known for his black and white Belgian flag Birth of a Nation (2003) which has been widely exhibited as well as his aborted PS1 (New York) residency in 2004 ; the result of which was a studio visit without the artist, who had been kicked out of the US, an occasion which he subsequently illustrated by way of a poster. To introduce the show at Le Bonheur, which takes place during the Brussels Catholic congress, Michael Van Den Abeele says Come and witness it.
